Volunteer Duties

Assist Your Local Sheriff's Office as a Community Service Representative! As a member of the Sheriff Volunteers you will be providing valuable assistance to your community in essential support functions. We have a variety of different positions open to meet volunteer’s interests and skill levels throughout the County. Some examples are: Service Center assistant, Citizen Patrol driver, Child Safety program, Jail program assistant, Crime and Business prevention program, Internships, and Coroner/Forensic assistant. From providing neighborhood security patrols, abandoned vehicle abatement, and vacation house checks, to providing assistance at community events, inmate program assistance, maintaining the vehicle fleet, entering crime reports, scanning records, providing clerical support to different divisions, helping with recruitment & training, social media, and working the reception desk you will be working "hand in hand" with members of your Sheriff's Office. There are also positions available for those with specialized skills and experience. Shifts, dates and times: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. One 3 to 4 hour shift each week desired. Qualifications: · Customer service skills · Computer skills · Commitment · Enthusiasm · Training: · Volunteer training academy required.

 

Training - 4 days throughout a 2 week period, time commitment. Minimum of 6 months required, minimum of 16hrs per month, normally work 4 hour shifts M-F 9am-5pm, qualifications also include drivers license and background check.
